Expanding The 'Eliss' Board

The ELiSS Board provides coverage of the C-SAP disciplines and also Criminology, Cultural Studies. Social science is a broad field and the Board wishes to expand its membership in ways that meet the needs of teaching and learning in the social sciences in the future. The Board also seeks to be proactive in approach and to encourage areas in social science provision that may be interested in seeking synergies in learning and teaching through ELiSS. Thus the Board is interested in applicants from development studies, economic geography, social history as well as from other fields with clear social science interests. The Board also welcomes applicants from FE Colleges with higher education interests.

The Board seeks applications for Board membership from colleagues who can demonstrate commitment to teaching and learning in social science and familiarity with any of the following: assessment, creative writing approaches, professional practice of any sort, third sector activity, international studies, 14-19 curriculum, social science and further education.

Applicants from the C-SAP disciplines with interests in promoting the work of ELiSS are welcome to submit an application.

Board membership is not restricted to the UK. Board members are expected to participate in an annual board meeting which may include video-conferencing as appropriate. Contact can be maintained through different media. It is the role of board members to encourage journal contributions from their fields as far as possible, to lead on areas of academic and or professional interest in collaborative ways, to participate in reviewing, to advise on the  promotion and status of the journal.

Inquiries should be sent to the editor in the first instance: A.J.Rosie@shu.ac.uk

Applications through a brief letter of application outlining the potential personal contribution accompanied by a cv should be sent to Sara Milner, journal administrator on eliss@c-sap.bham.ac.uk
